Chester Anthony Rozga, 87, Enjoyed golfing and fishing
Chester Anthony Rozga, age 87, of Grafton, passed away Saturday afternoon in the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky after a long illness.He was born Tuesday, July 25, 1916 in Grafton where he lived his entire life.
Mr. Rozga is a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Grafton, and the church's Holy Name Society where he was named Man of the Year in 1991. Mr. Rozga served on the Grafton Village Council and was past president of the Goldenaires Senior Group.
Chester served in the U.S. Marines in the South Pacific during WWII and is a member of the Mihalis VFW Post 1079 in Elyria. Mr. Rozga retired as a supervisor in 1981 from Larson Consolidation in Grafton. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and playing with his grandchildren & great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife: Cecelia (nee Zaleski) married 63 years; 2 daughters: Carol Chinn of San Jose, CA, and Patricia Elek of Tallmadge, Ohio; 1 son: Don Rozga of Sheffield Lake, Ohio; several grandchildren & great grandchildren; sister: Marie Gebbia of Port Richey, Fla.; 3 brothers: John Rozga of Grafton, Ohio and Joseph & James Rozga both of Spring Hill, Fla.
He is preceded in death by his parents: John & Mary Rozga; brothers: Walter &
Donald; and sisters: Helen Lennerth & Florence Ladd.
Friends may call in the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home 1021 Main St. Grafton on Tuesday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. with funeral mass in Immaculate Conception
Church 708 Erie St. Grafton on Wednesday at 11:00am with Fr. John Seabold
pastor officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Grafton. Mihalis VFW Post 1079 in Elyria will conduct military graveside honors at the cemetery.
