William F. Mayer, 81, Enjoyed his family

William F. Mayer, age 81, of Avon Lake, passed away Monday, June 7, 2004 at his home following a short illness.

He was born August 28, 1922 in Cleveland and moved to Avon Lake in 1954.

Mr. Mayer was employed as a maintenance supervisor. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Avon Lake. He enjoyed his family.

William is survived by five daughters: Angela Van Der Oord (Larry), Camilla Gordon (Ralph), Pamela Dietz, Nana Dimassa (Michael), and Patricia Knapp (Greg), all of Avon Lake; four sons: Christoper and Edwin (Kathy) of Avon Lake, and Jonathan and Michael (Pepper), both of Lakewood; sixteen grandchildren; and a brother: George of Cleveland.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Bernadette (nee Jansen); three brothers; a sister; and his parents.

A memorial service will be held at St. Joseph Church, 32929 Lake Rd., in Avon Lake Wednesday, June 09, 2004 at 10 a.m. Fr. Timothy J. O’Conner will officiate. Cremation by Busch Crematory. Interment will be private at Holy Trinity Cemetery Mausoleum, in Avon.
