Lawrence G. Thomas, 63, Loved wildlife and the outdoors

Lawrence Gerald Thomas, age 63, of Avon, passed away Tuesday June 8, 2004 at the Rae-Nursing Center, Cleveland following a two-month illness.

He was born August 10, 1940 in Elyria and moved to Avon in 1993 coming from Sheffield Lake. He was a graduate of North Ridgeville High School. He was employed as a plant operator B for Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company (C.E.I), Avon Lake. Gerald was part owner of the Broken Paddle fishing and hunting camp in Ontario, Canada. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 7035, Avon and the National Rifle Association. He had a great appreciation for the outdoors and wildlife.

Mr. Lawrence is survived by his wife of 33 years, Elnor “Midge” (nee Palmer) and his father, John T Lawrence of North Ridgeville. He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Lawrence (nee McCracken).

A memorial Visitation will be held at the Busch Funeral Home, 3200 Detroit Rd. Avon, Friday July 9 from 3-5 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Roger Bemis, a reader with First Church of Christ Scientist, Lorain-Elyria, will officiate. Cremation at Busch Crematory. Memorials may be forwarded to Harbinger Hospice, 1119 Basset Rd.
