Viola P. Zywotek, 87, Hobbies included antiques and polka dancing
Viola P. Zywotek (nee Zezula), age 87, of Sheffield Township, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at the New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph following a extended illness.She was born January 6, 1917 in South Amherst, Ohio and had been a resident of Sheffield Township for the past sixty years coming from Lorain.
Mrs. Zywotek attended the South Amherst Schools, a parishioner of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township, her hobbies included refurbishing antiques, polka dancing, and listening to polka music. Additional interests included sewing and cooking.
She is survived by her son: Dennis M. Zywotek residing in Avon Lake, daughter and caregiver: Loretta McGannon of Lorain, daughter: Gloria Smith also of Lorain, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, her sister: Leona Pehl of Sheffield Township, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Steve in 1981, by her son Theodore in 2002, by her parents: Joseph and Sophia (nee Wozniak) Zezula, by a sister Josephine Zywotek, brother: Chester Zezula, half-sisters: Julia Hookalo, Jean Goske, and Helen Grysiewicz, and half-brothers: Anton Grysiewicz, Rudy Grysiewicz, Ben Zezula, Paul Greswit, and Joseph Greenwit.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be Friday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by the celebration of her funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria Township. The Reverend James Ols, pastor of Saint Vincent de Paul Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Amherst.
