Michael Rzemiski, 84, of Lorain, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.
Born March 7, 1920 in Pennsylvania, he came to Lorain in the 1930's. He served in the US Army during World War II. He worked at Lorain Works US Steel as a pipe fitter for 32 years retiring in 1970.
He was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lorain, and the United Steel Workers Union Local 1104. He enjoyed bowling, collecting knick-knacks and model cars.
Surviving in his wife of 63 years, Margaret (nee Korngage), a stepson, Albert Korngage, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, 3 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, a sister, Casimira "Kay" Thompson, of Lorain, a step brother, Bill Rousis, of Lorain, and a step sister, Velma Brady, of Lorain.
The family will receive friends on Friday, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. The family will also receive friends on Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of mass at 2:00 p.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, E. 28th Street and Elyria Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Kevin Shemuga, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
