Lillian Mielcarek, 84, Enjoyed traveling, gardening, and was an avid Clearview High School Sports fan.
Lillian Mielcarek (nee Shullery), 84, of Lorain, died Sunday June 20, 2004 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain after a short illness.She was born March 15, 1920 in Vermillion and had resided in Lorain since 1945.
Mrs. Mielcarek worked in the cafeteria at Durling Elementary School in Sheffield Township retiring in 1980. She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church in Sheffield Township and the J.O.Y. Seniors of the church. She volunteered with the Salvation Army Keenagers and was a member of the Golden Age Pensioners of Lorain. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and was an avid Clearview High School Sports fan.
She is survived by her sons Joseph J. Mielcarek and Michael E. Mielcarek, both of Lorain, daughter Patricia Wolfe of Scottsdale, Arizona, grandchildren Mitchell, Tyler, and MacKenzie, and sisters Rose Ziegler of Barberton and Elizabeth Tebelak of Norton. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Mielcarek in 1990 and brother Raymond Schullery in 1975.
The family will receive friend Thursday 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Edgar Anthony pastor of Ss. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
