William B. Edmonson, 62, Enjoyed hunting and fishing

William B. "Billy" Edmonson, age 62, of Lorain, died on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.

Born on February 18, 1942 in Friedens, Pennsylvania, he moved to this area 35 years ago.

He served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964.

He was employed as a line operator at the Ford Motor Plant for 15 years, retiring in 1990.

He was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Elyria. He was also a member of the United Auto Workers Local #2000, Avon.

William enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years: Freda (nee Butler), son: David Lee Edmonson, of Clyde, OH, daughter: Ada Mae Perez, of Lorain, 3 grandchildren, brothers: Donald, of Lorain and Thomas, of Jennerstown, PA, sisters: Shirley Thompson and Mary Lou Rosey, both of Elyria and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Donald and Ada (nee O'Baker) Edmonson, brothers: David Lee and Ronald, and sister: Glada Walters.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 24, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain where funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a mass at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, Elyria at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Fr. James Ols, pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
