Raul A. Medina, 52, was a member of the AMVETS baseball team and played league pool tournaments

Photo of Raul A. Medina Raul A. Medina 52 of Lorain died Sunday, June 27, 2004 in Louis Stokes Veteran Administration Medical Center following a brief illness.

He was born April 11, 1952 in Jayuya, Puerto Rico. He was a life long resident of Lorain.

He attended Admiral King High School and Lorain Community College.

Mr. Medina was employed at Multi-Foods in Elyria for the past three years. Previously he was an assembler at Lorain Ford Assembly Plant for 16 years.

He served in the United States Army from 1970 to 1974.

Mr. Medina was a member of AMVETS Post 58 of Lorain, where he was a member of the Color Guard. He was also a member of the United Auto Workers of America Local 425 in Lorain. He was a member of the AMVETS baseball team and played league pool tournaments.

Among the survivors is his son Raul A. Medina, Jr. of Lorain; parents Fernando and Alma E. (nee Rivera) Medina of Orlando, Florida; brothers Victor Vazquez of Rockville, Maryland, Hector and Jorge Medina both of Lorain- Cuyahoga Works of U. S. Steel, Lorain; sister Alma Martinez of Orlando, Florida and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother Fernando "Papolo" Medina.
