Helen R. Chapman, 87, Lifelong Lorain resident
Helen R. Chapman, age 87, of Lorain, died Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at Community Health Partners West after a brief illness.She was born January 31, 1917 in Sheffield Village, and has remained in the Lorain area all of her life.
Helen worked for several different industries in Elyria throughout her life, and also at National Lube (now U.S. Steel) for several years.
Survivors include Adam Schildwater of Lorain, two granddaughters, and one great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Ignatius and Elizabeth (nee Gubeno) Huber, and three husbands; Adam Schildwater, James Calabrese, and Paul Chapman.
The family will receive friends Friday from 3-5 p.m. at the Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home, 2920 Broadway Lorain, OH. Prayers at the funeral home will be held on Saturday at 9:30, followed at 10 a.m. by a mass at Nativity Church, with Fr. Robert Glepko officiating.
