Beverly J. Kaviak, 69, Enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, and traveling

Beverly J. Kaviak (nee Dedrick), age 69, of Lorain, died Thursday, July 15, 2004 at her home after a lengthy illness.

She was born December 7, 1934 in Cleveland and had resided in Lorain most of her life.

Mrs. Kaviak was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Elyria Township and the church Altar & Rosary Society and Seeds for Hope. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, ceramics, gardening, traveling, reading, and bowling.

She is survived by her sons: Jeffery A. Kaviak of Indianapolis, Indiana, John M. Kaviak serving with the US Army, and Joseph E. Kaviak of Hatley, Wisconsin; daughter: Karen E. Davis of Lorain, step-daughter: Cheryl Gargas of Amherst; 13 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a brother: David L. Dedrick of New Jersey.

Beverly was preceded in death by her husband: John Kaviak; step-daughter: Deborah Morton; parents: Norval and Marjorie Dedrick (nee Smith); brother: Darrell R. Dedrick; and sister: Marjorie Timmermans.

The family will receive friends Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel; 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 N. Ridge Road, Elyria Township. The Rev. James Ols, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
