Anna Stransky, 83, Enjoyed playing cards and attending card parties

Photo of Anna Stransky Anna Stransky, (nee Tomasic), age 83, of Lorain, died Saturday, July 17, 2004 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain following a lengthy illness.

Born August 29, 1920 in Lorain, she has lived in Lorain her entire life

She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lorain, the St. Stanislaus Women's Guild, and Altar and Rosary Society.

Anna was a homemaker, and enjoyed playing cards and attending card parties, and church related activities.

Surviving are her sons: Adolph, of Palatine, IL, David and Donald, both of Lorain, and James, of Amherst; daughters: Phyllis Krzys, of Valley City, OH, Diane Long, of Naperville, IL, and Carolyn Campana, of Lorain; 15 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren; brothers: Joseph Tomasic, of Mesa, AZ, Paul Tomasic and James Tomasic, both of Lorain, a sister, Mary Skolnicki, of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years: Adloph, who died in 2002; her parents: Blaz Tomasic, in 1935, and Kata (nee Mihalic) Tomasic, in 1983; brothers: Steve Tomasic, Martin Tomasic, Michael Tomasic, William Tomasic, and Blaz Tomasic.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain, where a rosary service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. by the St. Stanislaus Altar and Rosary Society. Funeral services will be Thursday at 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home followed by mass at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, E. 28th Street and Elyria Ave., Lorain. Rev. Fr. Kevin Shemuga, pastor and Rev. William Schill, Deacon, both of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
