Charles Ross Gilchrist, 73, Resident of Sheffield Lake for 38 years
Charles Ross Gilchrist, 73 years of age, and a resident of Sheffield Lake, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2004 at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain.He was born October 5, 1930 in Brilliant, Ohio where he was raised and lived until entering the service. He was a resident of Sheffield Lake for the last thirty-eight years.
He retired from the U.S. Navy. Charles was employed by SBS Transit as a mechanic. He was a member of the Sheffield Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars; the Sheffield Lake AMVETS Post #55 and the Lorain Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his daughters Lee Ann Gilchrist and Cheryl Guzman, both of Lorain; for grandchildren; and his brothers Donald Gilchrist of Brilliant, Ohio and Robert Gilchrist of San Diego, California.
He preceded in death by his parents Denver and Beulah Gilchrist (nee: Roush).
Friends will be received at a memorial service on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Beacon Baptist Church; 3407 West Erie Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Aaron Webb, pastor, will officiate.
