Simeon Malicki, 79, Enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping
Simeon "Sam" Malicki age 79 of Columbia Station passed away Saturday July 17, 2004 after a short illness.He was born Sunday, August 3, 1924 in Cleveland, living in Huron & Lorain Counties most of his life, and he was a graduate of North Olmsted High School.
Mr. Malicki is a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving during WWII in the pacific in Okinawa and received a Purple Heart from injuries sustained while in Okinawa. He was a self-employed butcher where he owned & operated Malicki Meats in Olmsted Falls and Columbia Station for 23 yrs. until his retirement in 1980. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid gardener. He also enjoyed playing cards, and loved camping. He was a member of the North Ridgeville VFW Post# 9871in North Ridgeville for many years.
He is survived by his wife Julianna Malicki married 56 years, daughter Linda Malicki of North Ridgeville, Ohio, son Daniel Malicki of Greenwich, Ohio, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren, brother Joseph Malicki of Grafton, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by a daughter Cynthia, and a son Theadore, his parents Wasyl and Anna Malicki, and two sisters.
Memorial services for Mr. Malicki will be on August 3, 2004 at 11:00 am in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Columbia Station, Ohio. Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Family suggest Memorials be made to the Lorain County Metro Parks, 12882 Diagonal Rd. LaGrange, Ohio 44050.
