Wallace Holbrook, 84, Enjoyed hunting, gardening, and fishing

Wallace Holbrook, 84, of Vermilion, died Saturday, July 17, 2004 in Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness.

He was born April 2, 1920 in Letcher Co., KY. He had been a Vermilion resident since 1960 moving from Millstone, KY.

He worked in the maintenance department at the Lorain Ford Plant for 22 years, retiring in 1982. He had previously worked for various coal mines in KY.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Vermilion, South Shore Wildlife Club, and enjoyed hunting, gardening, and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Eva (nee Martin) Holbrook, two daughters Rose Donna Dziak of Vermilion and Judy Campbell of Vermilion, two sons, Paul Randall Holbrook of Wellington, and John Wayne Holbrook of Ashville, OH, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and brother John M. Holbrook of Amherst.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Willie J. and Betty (nee Ison) Holbrook, son William Holbrook in 2002, four brothers, Millard, Patrick, Charles, and George Holbrook, and two sisters, Victoria King and Flora Hamric.

Friends may call Tuesday, July 20, 2004 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 2:00 p.m. at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Reverend Billy Joe White, pastor of Free Will Baptist Church, Wellington will be officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion.
