John Davila, 42, Enjoyed playing football, basketball, and bodybuilding

Photo of John Davila John Davila, 42, of Lorain, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at Shands Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida from injuries sustained in an auto accident.

He was born April 9, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois, and came to Lorain as just an infant.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, and enjoyed playing football, basketball, bodybuilding, boxing and wrestling.

Survivors include his father, Julio Solis of Lorain; son, Jermane Vernon Davila of Lorain; daughters, Beverly Ann Luckey, Shanta Nicole Luckey, Dawn Atkins, and Christina Lynn Rivera all of Lorain; sisters, Damaria Cruz, Julia Delgado, and Carmen Ortiz all of Lorain.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Conrada (nee Agosto Davila) Solis, in 2000.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by mass at 9:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
