John Joseph Faron, 91, Owned and operated the Faron Delicatessen in Cleveland for 30 years
John Joseph Faron, 91 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Friday, July 23, 2004 at his home following a brief illness.He was born April 16, 1913 in Cleveland where he was raised. He has been a resident of Amherst for the last twenty-six years.
John was employed by National Screw and Tack in Cleveland for thirty years, retiring as a supervisor. After retirement, he and his wife owned and operated the Faron Delicatessen in Cleveland for 30 years. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus fro 25 years, and the St. Michael’s League in Cleveland.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Elizabeth Joanne Betty Faron (nee Talarczyk); his sons John P. Faron of Parma, and Joseph J. Faron of Parma Heights; his daughter Janice Syrowskiof Amherst; 13 grandchildren; and his sister Josephine Zawislan of Brooklyn Heights.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Jacalyn Marie Faron in 1975; by his parents Joseph and Dominica Faron (nee Capala); by his brothers Joseph Faron at age three and Frank Faron; and by his sisters Rose Zawislan and Marie Sykora.
Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Closing prayers will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Warner, associate pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Amherst.
