Vera Stevens Hummel, 86, Enjoyed gardening and cooking

She was born July 21, 1918 in Louisville, Mississippi and had lived in Vermilion from 1958 to 1998 moving to California then to Colorado.
Mrs. Hummel was affiliated with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Lorain and the Italian American Club, Lorain. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Vera is survived by her son: Terry Stevens of Sheffield Lake; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters: Carolyn Ward and Bobbie Rodgers of Mississippi; and a brother: Ellis Holdiness, Jr. of Mississippi.
Preceding her in death were her parents: Ellis and Lydia (nee Burnham) Holdiness; first husband: Grady Stevens in 1996; second husband John Hummel in 1997; daughters: Sylvia and Wanda Kaye Stevens; and stepsons: Norman and William Stevens.
Graveside services will be held at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Friday, July 30, 2004 at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst. Matthew Humphrey, Funeral Celebrant, will officiate.
Arrangements are being handled by Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion.
