Kostas Althineos, 77, 32 year Lorain Resident

He was born May 3, 1927 in Mytiline, Greece. He came to the United States in 1972, and has been a resident of Lorain for the past 32 years.

Kostas worked in delivery and distribution for the Aratex Corp. in Lorain for 20 years, retiring in 1992. While living in Greece, he was a police officer for 25 years.

Mr. Althineos was a member on St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Lorain.

Survivors include his wife: Ketty (nee Paradissia); his twin sons: Markos and Tassos, both of Lorain; six grandchildren; and one brother and sister, living in Greece.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Anastasios and Despina Althineos; and by two brothers.

Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst, where a Pastas Service will be held at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. from St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church; 2000 Tower Blvd., Lorain. The Rev. Fr. Basil Stoyka will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
