Susan Reed, 74, Loved spending time with her family

She was born April 7, 1930 in Harts Creek, West Virginia where she was raised. She has made her home in Lorain since 1972.

Susan was employed at the former Lorain Products in Lorain for seventeen years, retiring in 1991 as an electrical inspector. She was a member of Beacon Baptist Church in Lorain. She loved spending time with her family, traveling and crafts.

Survivors include her husband of fifteen years: Eugene Willard Reed; her sons Jarvis C. "Jay" Browning, Jr. of Lorain; her daughters: Brenda O'Brien and Yvonne DeCarlo Richardson, both of Middletown, New York, Gertrude Della Jacobs of Mims, Florida, and Edna Louise Knall of Lorain; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and her sisters: Mary Richards and Barbara Dalton, both of Harts Creek, West Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her son: Bilton Caleb Browning in 2002; her parents Louis Caleb and Lucinda Browning (nee: Adkins); fourteen brothers; and five sisters.

Friends may call Friday from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. from Beacon Baptist Church; 3407 West Erie Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Aaron Webb, pastor, will officiate. Friends may also call Monday from 9- 10:30 a.m. at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home; 213 Main St., Rainelle, West Virginia with burial to follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville, West Virginia.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Beacon Baptist Church; 3407 West Erie Ave., Lorain 44053.
