Lorenza D. Rivas, 80, Enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and cooking
Lorenza D. "Lola" Rivas (nee Santiago) 80 of Lorain died Thursday, July 29, 2004 in New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.She was born September 5, 1923 in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico. She was a Lorain resident for 54 years. She came here to live in 1950.
She was a Member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain. Mrs. Rivas was a homemaker and mother. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking and looking after her Grandchildren.
Among the survivors are her sons, Carlos Rivas of Baytown, Texas, Angel, Inocencio Jr., Ramon and Dennis Rivas all of Lorain, Antonio Rivas of Chicago, Illinois; daughters, Iris Marcano of Chicago, Illinois, Dominica Velez, and Theresa Prihoda and Myra Gray all of Lorain, Martha Cabranes of Amherst, Luz Arroyo of Pontiac, Michigan, Zolia Rivas of Coamo, Puerto Rico, Antonia Wolf of Orange, Sandra Bradley of Lakewood and Alicia Rucker of Cleveland Heights; 40 Grandchildren and 30 Great Grandchildren; sisters Christina Nolasco, Juana Santiago and Crucita Santiago all of Coamo, Puerto Rico.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years; Inoscencio Rivas in1994, daughter Norma Rivas in 1981, parents Herman and Maria (nee Miranda) Santiago, brothers Pablo, Severo, Cruzo, and Julio Santiago.
Friends may call Saturday 9:00 AM until time of service at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain Ohio.
