Alma J. Lombardi, 83, Enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading

She was born on December 13, 1920 in Amherst and was a lifelong resident of Lorain. She was a graduate of Lorain High School Class of 1939A. She
graduated from Practical Training Bible College and in 1961 graduated from the M.B. Johnson School of nursing in Elyria.
Mrs. Lombardi worked at the plane factory during WW II. After nursing school graduation she began to work at the former Shields Nursing Home now the Autumn Aegis Nursing Home. She retired in 1985 after 25 years service.
She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church now the Cornerstone United Methodist Church. She was very active in the church holding several positions. She was a member of the Rebecca Circle, The Methodist Women, LUMM, and sang dutifully in the choir. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Association and was active in the bowling league.
Mrs. Lombardi enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching the Cleveland Indians and the Cavaliers and reading.
She is survived by a daughter Marilou Lombardi of Haddon Heights, NJ, sons Paul M. of Scarborough, Maine, Timothy P. and David J. Lombardi both of Lorain, 6 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul M. Lombardi in 1960, her parents George F. and Florence P. (nee Bullock) Johnson and two brothers George F. Bullock Jr. and Warren B. Johnson.
Friends may call on Wednesday, August 4, 2004 from 6-9 pm at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
Additionally, the family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 until funeral time at 11:00 am in the Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 559 Reid Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. Rev. Dale Warrick, pastor will officiate.
Burial will be private.
