Doris E. Godles, 77, Enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles

Doris E. Goldles (nee Gove), age 77, of Lorain, died Thursday, August 5, 2004 at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation after an illness of several months.

Mrs. Godles was born in Lorain on August 4, 1937 and had been a life long resident of the city.

She was a graduate of Lorain High School with the class of 1945-B. She had been employed as a press operator for General Motors Corporation’s Fisher Guide Division in Elyria retiring in 1982 following twenty-nine years of service.

A parishioner of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain, her hobbies included reading and working crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed flowers.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-seven years: Anthony J. Godles, as son Jeffrey J. Godles of Sullivan, Ohio, daughters Catherine L. Zehel and Joyce A. Miller both of Lorain, six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Willis and Etta (nee White) Gove, by sisters Grace Mihok, Marguerite Jones, and Ruth Dandrea, and by brothers: James, Frank, Uriel, and Clarence.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway, Lorain. Funeral Services will be Monday beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel and will be followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in Nativity B.V.M. Catholic church, 1454 Lexington Ave., Lorain. The Reverend Robert Glepko, pastor of the parish, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
