Jack L. Harmon, 67, Served as corporal in the US Army

Jack L. Harmon, age 67, of Lorain, died suddenly on Friday evening on August 6, 2004 at his residence.

He was born on July 13, 1937 in Elyria. He returned to Lorain and had lived here for the past 16 years. He was a graduate of Clearview High School.

During the Korean Conflict he served in the United States Army as a corporal.

Jack was an auto body repairman for over 40 years. Most recently he worked as a over the road carrier driver. He enjoyed being a life member of the Amvets Post #47, Lorain. Jack also enjoyed working on cars, fishing and watching old western movies.

He is survived by his brother: Jim Harmon, of Wellington; two sisters: Shirley Cramer, of Smithville, PA, and Doris Delestathis, of Lorain; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Harmon was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years: Berta (nee Ramirez); and parents: Charles Henry Harmon and Bernice (nee Traxler).

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 15, 2004 from 2 until time of services at 4 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Pastor Ray Munoz, his nephew, pastor of Warriors of Faith Multi-Nations Church, of Elyria, will officiate and military honors will be conducted by Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter #20. Burial will be held at a later date.
