Mildred Ross, 89, Enjoyed spending time with her family
Mildred Ross (nee Rothart) Millie, 89 of Avon Lake, formerly of Cleveland, passed away, Friday, August 6, 2004 at the Renaissance, Hospice of the Cleveland Clinic, following a three-week illness.Mrs. Ross was born April 5, 1915 in Rochester, Pennsylvania and had lived in the Cleveland area since 1943.
Mrs. Ross was a 1933 graduate of Rochester High School.
She worked at General Electric, Nela Park for 32 years, retiring in 1979 as a foreman. Mrs. Ross was the first woman to be promoted to foreman at Nela Park. In later years, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter; Joyce Noss of Bay Village, seven grandchildren; Laura Noss, David Noss, Kim Domorasky, Kelly Layton, Shannon Farr, Kevin Ross, and Michael Ross, and nine great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years; Benjamin L. Ross, who passed away in 1998, a son; Thomas A. Ross, parents; John and Martha (nee Jelenick) Rothart, a sister; Ann Popovic, and a brother; Nicholas Rothart.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Church, 32929 Lake Rd., Avon Lake, Tuesday, August 10, at 10 a.m. Retired Fr. James Becherer will officiate. Interment will follow in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon. Memorials may be forwarded to Hospice of the Cleveland Clinic, 6801 Brecksville Rd., Independence, 44131.
Arrangements are being handled by the Busch Funeral Home, Avon Lake.
