Mathilda S. Macartney, 84, Enjoyed the Indians and the Browns

Mrs. Macartney was born on November 17, 1919 in Lorain and was a lifelong resident.
Mathilda was a 1937 graduate of Clearview High School. She worked as a welder at Fruehauf Trailers and a keypunch operator at the former Thew Shovel. She retired from Lorain Products as a coil winder.
Mrs. Macartney was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Saxon Club. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns.
Mrs. Macartney is survived by her sons: Larry Macartney of Elyria, David and Richard Macartney both of Lorain; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: James S. Macartney in 1977, her parents John and Susanna (nee Schuster) Fritsch and two brothers Ed and John Fritsch.
Friends may call on Thursday, August 12, 2004 from 4-7 p.m. at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home for Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Ohio 44052.
Additionally, friends may call from 10 a.m. until funeral time at 11 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church. 5100 Ashland Ave., Lorain, Ohio 44053. Pastor Edgar Anthony, pastor at Sts. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, will officiate.
Burial will be at the Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, in Amherst Township, OH.
