Fay Demopoulos, 67, Loved music, and spending time with her family
Fay Demopoulos, age 67, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at Grace Hospital in Amherst following a 5 month illness.She was born April 18, 1937 in Bronx, New York. She was raised in Elyria and has made her home in Amherst since 1992.
Fay is a graduate of Elyria High School and Ohio Business College in Lorain. She was employed for the City of Cleveland Taxation Department for twenty-five years as supervisor. She was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Lorain where she served as past choir director, youth director, and she was active with the Daughters of Penelope. She enjoyed shopping on the Home Shopping Channel QVC, loved music, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her brother-in-law: Spero Bountogianis of Amherst; her sister-in-law Mary Jane Demopoulos; her nephews: Andy Bountogianis of Westlake, and Peter Demopoulos of Lakewood; her nieces: Bessie Aslandis of Amherst and Mary Beth Warchol of Cleveland; and two great nieces.
Ms. Demopoulos was preceded in death by her parents: Peter, in 1965, and Bessie (nee Tsepenkas) Demopoulos, in 1992; her brother: Eugene Demopoulos in 1981; and by her sister: Helen Bountogianis on May 26, 2003.
Friends may call Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home ~ 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst where Trisagion Services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. from St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church ~ 2000 Tower Blvd., Lorain 44053.
