Julia Soppanish, 92, Enjoyed cooking and traveling
Julia Soppanish (nee Toth), 92, of Lorain, died Friday, August 13, 2004 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain after a brief illness.She was born September 17, 1911 in Chagrin Falls, Ohio and had resided in Lorain since 1935, moving from Medina.
Mrs. Soppanish was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lorain. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking, flower gardening, and traveling.
Julia is survived by her daughters: Ruth Frantz of Elyria and Mrs. Andrew (Loretta) Tonich of Vermilion; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Louis Soppanish in 1993; parents: John and Theresa (nee Bene) Toth; sister: Theresa Toth in infancy; and brother: Louis Toth in 1959.
Private services were held Monday in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel ~ 3224 Broadway Ave. ~ Lorain. Rev. Louis Maldonado, deacon of St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated. Burial was in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
