Carmen M. Perez, 69, Enjoyed reading the Bible and gardening
Carmen M. Perez, (nee Ramos), age 69, of Lorain, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004 at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital, Cleveland following a brief illness.Born Sept. 27, 1934 in Anasco, Puerto Rico, she came to Lorain in 1956 and has lived here since.
She was an active member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain, where she belonged to the Circulo de Oracion, Servidores de Renovacion, Charismatic Movement, the Sacred Heart Welcoming Committee, and the Visitation Fellowship of the infirmed and of the community.
She enjoyed reading the bible, fellowship, gardening, and sewing.
Surviving is her husband, Ramon Perez; sons, Luis Mendoza of Anasco, Puerto Rico, and Edwin R. Perez of Valrico, Florida; daughters, Theresa Perez Consolo, of Huron, Ohio, and Margie Perez Turtle, of Collierville, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; a brother, Jose Ramos of Anasco, Puerto Rico; sisters, Camelia Ramos, Alicia Ramos, Consuelo Ramos, Elba Ramos, and Gloria Ramos, all of Anasco, Puerto Rico.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Angel Ramos, and Cecilia (Mendez) Ramos, and her daughter, Carmen L. "Nely" Santiago, in 1988.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain, and again on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. Rev. Fr. William Thaden, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain. The Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain is handling the arrangements.
