Rosa Lydia Torres, 76, Enjoyed keeping her diary and gardening

Rosa Lydia Torres (nee Gonzalez), 76, of Lorain, died Sunday, August 15, 2004 in her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born April 11, 1927 in Utuado, Puerto Rico. She came to Lorain in 1967. She then relocated to Chicago, Illinois. She returned to Lorain in 2001.

While Mrs. was in Chicago she worked for the May Company.

Mrs. Torres was a member of Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal M. I. Cristo Rey, Lorain. She enjoyed keeping her diary and gardening.

Among the survivors are her sons: Bienvenido Reyes and Pedro Reyes of Chicago, and Jose Luis of Lorain; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 17 years: Francisco Torres in 1991; and her first husband of 30 years: Pedro Reyes in 1974; parents: Bienvenido and Sambrana (nee Tomasa) Gonzalez; brothers: Hector Rafael, Efrain, Angel Manuel and Rafael Reyes.

Friends may call Wednesday 4 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. in Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal M. I. Cristo Rey, 1749 Reid Avenue, where the funeral service will be Thursday 10 a.m. Rev. Juan Aybar, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain Ohio.
