Emma L. Page, 74, Hobbies included singing and going to church

Emma L. Page, (nee Bivins), age 74, of Elyria, died Wednesday August 18, 2004 in the Coronary Care Unit of EMH Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mrs. Page was born in Portageville, Missouri on January 11, 1930 and had been a resident of Ohio since 1955; she had lived in Elyria for the past twelve years relocating from Lorain.

She was formerly employed as a cook in the pro shop at the Aqua Marine Resort in Avon Lake. She previously worked as a clerk for the Lawson's Milk Company at their stores situated throughout Lorain.

Emma was an active member of the Praise and Worship Church of Elyria. Her hobbies included singing and going to church. She and her late husband also were active as foster parents and had been acknowledged for their work as adoptive parents by Berea Children’s Services of Berea, Ohio.

She is survived by daughters: Deanna M. Shirkey, Tern L. Charley, and Kristen M. Page all of Lorain, Cathy Leitner of Avon Lake; and sons: James, Glen, Robert, Kevin, and Darren J., all of Lorain; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren; brothers: Don Bivins of Elyria, and Paul Bivins of Buffalo, Missouri; and sisters: Juanita Walker, Cecil Crafton, and Deny Scoff all residing in Marshall, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her husband: James R. page in 1998; by her parents: Cullen and Lois (nee Zook) Bivins; by brothers: Junior and Dubb, and by a sister: Rhoda Ahart.

Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel - 3224 Broadway - Lorain. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Jim Monday, pastor of Praise and Worship Church officiating. Entombment will follow in Veteran's Mausoleum at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
