Helen Leona Reedy, 84, Homemaker

Born May 6, 1920 in Ten Mile, Pennsylvania, she was raised in Marianna, Pennsylvania where she graduated from West Bethlehem High School. She has been a resident of Amherst for the last 38 years.

Helen was a homemaker and was a member of Park Ave. United Methodist Church in Amherst.

Survivors include her daughters: Patricia Thomas of Amherst, and Claire Lindsey of Traverse City, Michigan; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and her sisters: Virginia Gray and Mae Rutan, both of Washington, Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Russell O. Reedy in 1995; by her granddaughter Melinda Lindsey; by her parents: Taylor and Alice Jane Bice (Loar); her brother Walter Bice; and by her sisters Hazel Bice, Katliryn Sherman, Betty Burke, and Mary Alice Bice.

Friends may call Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. William Mouer, pastor of Family Fellowship Four Square Church in Amherst will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
