Betty L. Young, 70, Actively involved with her family
Betty L. Young (nee Wenglik), 70 years of age and a resident of Lorain passed away Sunday, August 22, 2004 at EMH Regional Medical Center in Elyria following a sudden illness.Mrs. Young was born July 3, 1934 in Six Mile Run, Bedford County, Pennsylvania. Lorain has been her home for the past forty-six years.
She served as a bus aide for SBS Bus Company. Betty was a very active member of the Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Lorain and now in Elyria.
Betty was actively involved with her family and enjoyed reading.
Survivors include her son: Kent M. Young of Marysville, Ohio; her daughter: Gayle Young-Browning of Lorain; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; her brother: Ronald E. Wenglik of Derby, New York; her sisters: Darlene Walter of Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania, Kaye Calhoun of Lorain, and Sandra Scatena of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania; and fifteen nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years: Floyd Kenneth Young on September 22, 2003; by her infant son: Kenneth Craig Young; by her parents: John J., Sr. and Edith V. Wenglik (nee: Barneff); and by her brother John J. Wenglik, Jr.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 - 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. Dale Warrick, pastor of Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Elyria, will officiate. Entombment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Cornerstone United Methodist Church.
