Doris Irene Paton, 82, Excellent cook and baker

She was born May 12, 1922 in Birmingham where she was raised and lived until age 25 when she moved to Amherst. She lived in Elyria for five years then returned to Amherst and has been a resident of Birmingham for the last two years.

Mrs. Paton was a homemaker and was an excellent cook and baker. Doris enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and shopping.

Survivors include her son: Robert Paton of Birmingham; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband: of thirty-nine years: Maurice D. Paton on December 16, 1987; by her daughter: Rhonda Rochelle Smith on May 17, 2001; by her parents: Willard and Carrie Davidson; by her brothers: Russell Davidson, who died in World War II, and Richard Davidson; and by her sisters: Wilma Gerhardinger and Marge Kinsley.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Internment will be held privately at Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst.
