Faye Rhetta Henry, 75, Volunteer with the Nord Center
Faye Rhetta Henry (nee Nyfenger), 75 years of age, and a resident of Lorain, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2004 at Ohio Extended Care in Lorain following a lengthy illness.She was born December 4, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio where she was raised. She was a resident of Oberlin for five years; made her home in Elyria from 1955 to 1975, then resided in Avon Lake for ten years; and Lorain has been her home for the last four years.
She was a homemaker. Faye was very involved as a volunteer with the Nord Center in Lorain and enjoyed gardening, cats, and wintering in Florida.
Survivors include her sons: Ronald Demos of Huron and Alan Demos of Wooster; her daughters Sharon Langdon of Wellington, Patricia Gede of Amherst and Suzanne May of Wakeman; fourteen grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren. She also has three sisters and one brother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, of twenty-two years: Robert Henry in 1988; and by her parents Ernest and Tillie Nyfenger (nee: Skalak).
Friends may call Tuesday from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst where funeral services will be held at 8:30 p.m. The Rev. Carl Fannin, pastor of Collins United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery, Avon.
