Margaret Louise Kennedy, 84, Enjoyed golfing, bowling, and music
Margaret Louise Kennedy (nee Flamman) 84 years of age and a resident of Vermilion, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2004 at Community Health Partners H & S Center in Lorain following a brief illness.She was born July 27, 1920 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she was raised and lived until 1944, when she moved to Lorain. Amherst was her home from 1967 to 2000 when she moved to Vermilion.
During the 1940's she worked for the Bell Telephone Company as an operator. Margaret was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling, and music. Margaret and her husband volunteered at local nursing homes by providing musical entertainment.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-one years: Ray J. Kennedy; her son: Patrick Kennedy of Fairlawn, Ohio; her daughter Karen Belcher of Lorain; ten grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: George and Frances Flamman (nee: McCabe); by her brother: George Flamman; and by her sisters: Ann Flamman, Kathryn Flamman, Mary Lauth, and Sister Muriel.
Friends may call Thursday from 10-10:50 a.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph Catholic Church; 200 St. Joseph Dr., in Amherst with the Rev. Fr. Lawrence Martello, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Elyria.
