Joan C. Bartlebaugh, 69, Earned six various fish Ohio awards
Joan C. Bartlebaugh (nee Terschak), age 69, of Lorain, died Tuesday, August 24, 2004 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph in Lorain after a one-year illness.She was born January 2, 1935 on Lorain and had been a lifelong resident of the city.
Mrs. Bartlebaugh worked for the Meyer Goldberg Store, Nutri-Systems and architect Bill Unger.
She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church; Moose Lodge #522 and the No Name Card Club, all of Lorain.
Mrs. Bartlebaugh volunteered her time with the Lorain County voting polls for over 25 years. She loved fishing and earned six various Ohio awards. She enjoyed bingo and traveling to various casinos throughout the United States and Canada.
Mrs. Bartlebaugh was past president of the PTO of Jane Lindsay Elementary School. She enjoyed family outings and recently celebrated her 51st wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years: Virgil Bartlebaugh, Jr. of Lorain; daughters: Leslie Gede and Lynn Delili, both of Amherst; sons: Thomas and Brian Bartlebaugh, both of Lorain; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister: Patricia Tenorio of Lorain; and brothers: Wilford Terschak of Lorain and Eugene Terschak of Sheffield Lake.
Preceding her in death was her parents: Steve and Susan (nee Mraz) Terschak; and brother: Daniel Terschak.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel ~ 3224 Broadway Ave., in Lorain. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church ~ 1305 E. Erie Ave. ~ Lorain. The Rev. Joseph West, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
