Edward T. Smith, 63, Enjoyed fishing, power boating, and oil painting

Edward T. Smith, age 63, of Sheffield Township, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday August 30, 2004.

Mr. Smith was born April 2, 1941 in Elyria, Ohio. He attended Saint Mary Parochial School there had had been a resident of Sheffield Township for the past forty years corning from Lorain.

He was employed as a mechanic for Kaminski Oldsmobile & Cadillac of Lorain for a number of years and later in a similar capacity at Milad Chevrolet and Oldsmobile of Amherst.

His hobbies included fishing, power boating, and oil painting.

Survivors include his daughter: Julie Smith of Avon Lake, former spouse: Sue Smith (nee Myers) also of Avon Lake, brothers: Fredrick R. Smith and Joseph C. Smith, both residing in. Fort Myers, Florida, and a sister: Marianna Pihiblad of Lorain.

Edward was preceded in death by his father: Joseph Smith in 1956, by his mother: Bessie Smith (nee Ayers) in 1995, and by a brother Robert W. Smith in 1942.

All funeral services will be private.

The family suggests memorial contributions in his name to the Lorain Lighthouse Restoration Fund of the Port of Lorain Foundation, in care of John Malanowski, President -3721 Oberlin Avenue - Lorain, OH 44053.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel of Lorain.
