Helene J. Zalek, 63, Homemaker, enjoyed her family

She was born June 8, 1941 in Walkertown, PA. She moved to Ohio shortly after her marriage and has lived in the area for 43 years.
Helene was a homemaker and enjoyed her family. She loved cooking and baking, gardening, quilting, ceramics, and sewing. She was highly involved in getting assistance for special needs children.
Survivors include her husband Walter A. Zalek of Lorain, parents, George and Helen (nee Krilosky) Sosnak of Richeyville, PA; son, W. Gregory Zalek (and wife, Stacy) of Sheffield Lake; daughter, Valerie A. Miller (and husband, Scott) of Lorain; sisters, Georgia M. Brock of Denton, MD, Christine A. Pyrtko of Westlake, Oh, Rebecca A. Ghrist of Coal Center, PA; brother, George G. Sosnak of Crescent Heights, PA; granddaughters, Amanda, Margaret and Victoria; and, grandsons, Michael, Jordan and Victor, and step-grandson, Timothy.
Friends may call on Saturday, September 11, 2004, from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 3:00 pm at the Dombrowski-Volak-Riddle Funeral Home, 1939 Oberlin Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. Kendall Lancaster, Chaplain for Hospice of Cleveland Clinic, will officiate.
