Genevieve M. Reiter, 89, Enjoyed her family
Genevieve M. Reiter (nee Baitnik) 89 years of age, and a resident of Amherst passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004 at Community Health Partners following a two month illness.She was born January 19, 1915, in Hamtrak, MI where she was raised and lived until moving to Amherst in 1953 where she has resided since.
Genevieve's life revolved around her family, gardening and corresponding to close friends. As a young woman, she worked to support the war effort at Federal Mogul in Detroit MI during WWII.
Survivors include; sons: Gregory D. of Lorain and Gary E. of Amherst; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years: Edwin F. Reiter on June 18, 1989 and by nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral services and burial will be held privately by the family. The Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst has been entrusted with arrangements.
