Raymond J. Rider, 44, Enjoyed fishing and hunting
Raymond J. Rider 44 years of age, and a resident of Vermilion passed away Saturday evening, Sept. 4, 2004 at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.He was born February 16, 1960 in Lorain where he was raised and graduated from Admiral King High School in the class of 78. He has been a resident of Vermilion for the past five years.
Ray was a member of North Lake Missionary Baptist Church in South Amherst. He had worked as a truck driver for Daniels Trucking in Cleveland before taking medical retirement in 1992. He enjoyed greatly fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife of sixteen and a half years: Rhonda Renee (nee Kincer); sons: Raymond N. Rider and Ryan Rider both at home; brothers: James Rider of Elyria, OH and Keith Armstrong of Avon, OH; sisters: Telitha Lang of Lorain, Debris Stevens of Cleveland, Valorie Rider of Lorain, Mary Bryan of Elyria, Ernestine Fenohr and Terri Brown, and Clare McCall of Elyria; step father: Erwin Armstrong of Amherst.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Raymond J. Rider and Vada Armstrong (nee Wilson) and in April of this year by his brother Samuel Rider.
Friends may call Tuesday 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 - 11 a.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Wed at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Carson Fraley, pastor of North Lake Missionary Baptist Church in South Amherst will officiate.
