Carlina Barrios, 89

Carlina Barrios (nee Torres), 89, of Lorain, died Friday, September 10, 2004 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Youngstown following a lengthy illness.

Born November 4, 1914 in Patillas, Puerto Rico, she lived in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico before coming to Lorain in 1950.

Carline was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, growing red and white roses, and shoveling snow. She was a member of Sacred Heart Chapel, Lorain and the Cursillo Movement.

Surviving are her sons: Rafael Jr. of Barberton, Antonio of Lorain, and Nestor of Youngstown; daughters: Margarita Caldera of Lorain, and Marilyn Barrios of Miami; 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years: Rafael, in 1998; her daughter: Lydia Elsie Santiago, in 1988; her parents: Juan Torres and Emilia (nee Rivera) Torres, brothers: Saturnino in 1993, and Nicholas; a sister: Catilina Rios.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. The family will also receive friends on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
