Estelle Schoenberger-Schroeder, 82, Mother, excellent tennis player

Estelle Schoenberger-Schroeder (nee Rudy), 82 years of age and a resident of Amherst passed away Wednesday September 15, 2004 at Amherst Manor Nursing Home, following a short illness.

She was born April 16, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan. She was raised in both Detroit and Buffalo, NY, moving to Amherst in 1958.

Estelle was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Amherst. She enjoyed crocheting and was an excellent tennis player, teaching her children to play. She also enjoyed biking, bowling, card playing, bingo and was an Indians Fan.

Survivors include sons: Rick Schoenberger of Avon and Edward Schoenberger of Chicago, IL; her daughters: Carol Naro of Lorain, Nancy Klaar of Leroy, OH and her step daughter: Karen Ares of Tampa, FL; 5 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren; one great grand-daughter; and her sister: Mary Krieger of Buffalo, NY.

She was preceded by her first husband: Alois Schoenberger and her second husband: Sheldon "Sam" Schroeder; her daughter: Barbara Schoenberger in 1975; her sister: Katie Wiershem; and by her parents.

Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church; 440 North Lake St., Amherst. Rev. Michael Plog, pastor will officiate.

Burial will be in Crowitill Cemetery, Amherst OH.
