Reverend Larry Thomas Selby Sr., 67, Vermilion Church of God Pastor

Photo of Reverend Larry Thomas Selby Sr. Reverend Larry Thomas Selby, Sr. 67 of Vermilion, died Thursday, September 16, 2004 in Clarksfield as a result of an auto accident.

He was born August 8, 1937 in Tyronza, Arkansas. He lived in Lorain for 3 years, and had lived in Vermilion since 1960. He also lived in Earle, Arkansas.

He retired as a quality control inspector for Ford Motor Lorain, after 36 years. He founded the Vermilion Church of God in 1969 and served as its pastor until recently. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, gardening and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his son, Larry Thomas Selby, Jr. of Vermilion; daughters, Terry Michelle Sedberry of Rota, Spain, and Dianne Marie Anderson of Oregon, OH; granddaughter, Samantha Taylor Selby; grandson, Jonathan Daniel Anderson; sister, Elaine Shannon of Jonesboro, Arkansas and brother, Charles Selby, Earle, Arkansas.

His wife of 47 years, Geneva Louise Selby died as a result of the same accident. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Mattie Lee (nee Potts) Selby and brother Carlton George Selby.

Friends may call from 3-5 or 7-9 p.m. Monday, September 20, 2004 at the Sheffield Church of God, 2280 N. Abbe Road, Sheffield. A funeral service will be held at the church, Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at 10 a.m. Reverend Michael D. LeBuhn will officiate.

Friends may call Thursday, September 23, 2004 from 2 to 9 p.m. at the roller-Citizens Funeral Home, 201 Pine, West Memphis, Arkansas 72303. A funeral service will be held at the Earle Church of God, 606 6th Street, Earle, Arkansas, 72331 on Friday at 10 a.m. Reverend Bryan Jarrett will officiate. Burial will be in the Crittenden Memorial Park, Crawfordsville, Arkansas.

Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street, Vermilion is in charge of the arrangements.
