Debra Jean Kepler, 39, Nursing Student

Debra Jean Kepler (nee: Scislowski), 39 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2004 at Cleveland Clinic following a sudden illness.

She was born June 14, 1965 in Lorain where she was raised and graduated from Southview High School in 1983. She has lived in Amherst since 2002.

Debra was a student at Lorain County Community College in the nursing program. She was a member of Cornerstone Community Church, Amherst where she was active in the women's bible study, church event planning, children's ministries and available with a helping hand whenever she was called upon. She did exquisite cross stitching and enjoyed crafts, baking and school.

Survivors include her son, Michael Kepler at home in Amherst; her parents, Andrew and Cookie (nee: Chaszer) Scislowski of Lorain; her brothers, Randy Scislowski of Lorain, Richard Scislowski of North Olmsted and Robert Scislowski of Lorain; and her sister, Sheryl Scislowski of Elyria.

Friends may call Sunday from 2- 4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst, where funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Steve Buckner, pastor of Cornerstone Community Church will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Cornerstone Community Church, 111 South Lake Street, Amherst, 44001.
