Josefa Cardona, 91, Mother and Grandmother
Josefa Cardona, age 91, of Lorain, died on Sunday, October 10, 2004 at Lorain Manor Nursing Home following a sudden illness.She was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and has lived in Lorain for the last 8 years. Prior to that, she lived in Bronx, New York.
Josefa attended Iglesia Cristo Rey, Lorain. She enjoyed reading her bible, crocheting, and singing.
Mrs. Cardona is survived by 4 sons, Eduardo Jr., of Rock Ledge Florida, Louie and Jose, both of Bronx, NY, and Henry, of Lorain; 2 daughters, Martha Cardona, of Lorain and Alma Quinones, of Florida; 21 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Natividad Cruz Marrero, of Bronx, NY.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eduardo Cardona, Sr. in 1983; her son, David Cardona, her brother, Rafael Cruz-Marrero in 1951, and a granddaughter.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 14, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 15, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
