Donna J. Jenkins, 59, Paul's Auto Body Owner

Donna J. Jenkins (nee Attie) 59 of Lorain died Tuesday, October 26, 2004 in New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph, Lorain, following a lengthy illness.

She was born March 25, 1945 in Elyria. She was a Lorain resident for 57 years.

She was a graduate from Saint Mary High School in 1963. She attended Ohio State University studying Secondary Education.

Mrs. Jenkins managed and then owned and operated Paul's Auto Body in Lorain. She went to work for her father when she was 18 and worked there until there closing in 2002. She was also employed as a sales person and sewing instructor for Cindy Sew Easy Shop in Elyria.

Mrs. Jenkins was a member of Saint Anthony of Padua Church, Lorain. She was active in the school's Parent Teachers Association, and was a bingo volunteer. She was on the board and subsequently the director of Miss Lorain County in 2002. She helped organize her high school class fortieth class reunion.

She enjoyed antique and classic cars. She attended local car shows. She was an avid quilter, crocheter, and crafter. She enjoyed traveling, playing slot machines and reading, especially history.

Among the survivors are her sons Melvin Paul and Michael Allen Jenkins both of Lorain, daughter Melissa Jenkins of Cuyahoga Falls; father Paul Attie of Elyria Township; a sister Beverly Nolden of San Antonio and a Granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years Melvin "Mel" Jenkins in 2001and her mother Wanda Attie in 1993.

Friends may call Friday, October 29, 2004 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, Ohio.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 30, 2004, with closing prayers 9:30 AM in the funeral home followed by 10:00 AM Mass of the resurrection in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 1305 East Erie Avenue, Lorain. Rev. Joseph West, O. F. M. Conv., Pastor officiating. Burial will be in Ridge hill Memorial Park Cemetery Amherst Township.
