Dorothy M. Beckler, 82, Enjoyed embroidery

Dorothy M. Beckler, age 82, of Lorain, died Sunday December 12, 2004 at the New Life Hospice Center of Saint Joseph following an extended illness.

Miss Beckler was born in Lorain on January 9, 1922 and had been a life-long resident of the city.

As a youth she attended Saint Joseph Parish School in Lorain and was also a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church. At the time of her death she was a parishioner of Saint Mary of the Lake Catholic Church also in Lorain.

Dorothy was formerly employed as an assembler for the General Industries Corporation of Elyria.

Her interests included embroidery and working crossword puzzles.

She is survived by brothers: Raymond of Lorain and Harvey ‘’Ricky’’ of South Amherst; along with sisters: Betty Kish and Barbara Barnhart both of Lorain.

She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Anna (nee Webber) Beckler, by a sister; Geraldine Beckler and by her brothers: James and William.

Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel - 3224 Broadway - Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Reverend Daniel O. Divis, pastor of Saint Mary of the Lake Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery - Lorain.

The family suggests memorial contributions to either Saint Mary Catholic Church – 309 Seventh Street - Lorain, Ohio 44052-1879 or to the New Life Hospice - 5255 North Abbe Road Elyria, Ohio 44035.
