Margaret Schibley, 86, Active in church activities

Margaret Schibley (nee Bringman), 86 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away January 1, 2005 at Ohio Extended Care following a lengthy illness.

She was born November 9, 1918, in Vermilion and was raised and has lived her entire life in Amherst.

Margaret was a long time member of the Old Stone United Methodist Church where she was very active and enjoyed being involved with the Sarah Rebekah Circle as well as with church craft activities. She was an active member of the local Hickory Tree Orange as well as the Lorain County, Ohio State and National Orange organizations. She had served as CO-chairperson for the Lorain and Pomona County Cafeteria.

Survivors include husband of 63 years: Elton Schibley; son, Richard Schibley of Elyria; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother, William "Bus" Bringman; sisters, Marie Young and Katherine Koepp both of Amherst Shirley Rogers of California.

She was preceded by her sister Ruth Fischer and by parents, Peter and Teresa Bringman (nee Nagel).

Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Gary Ihasz of Kevin, of the Old Stone United Methodist Church in Amherst as well as Rev. Peter Kerlin pastor of Calvary United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Brownhelm Cemetery in Brownhelm Township, OH.
