Duane Dills Jackson Jr., 62, US Army Veteran

Duane Dills Jackson Jr., 62 years of age, and a resident of Lorain passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at Community Health Partners H&S Center, Lorain following a lengthy illness.

He was born October 25, 1942 in Carbondale, Pennsylvania. He came to Lorain at the age of nine and has been a lifetime resident.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a security guard. Duane was employed at Lake Terminal Railroad as an assistant train master before retiring in 1993. He belonged to the National Rifle Association and enjoyed shooting and also enjoyed wildlife, cats and dogs. He enjoyed cars and refurbishing his home.

Survivors include wife, Kathleen Jackson (nee: Michalski) of thirty-nine years, his son Jason Jackson of Sioux City, Iowa; his daughter Wendy Jackson of Lorain; his sisters, Elaine Price of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Carole Morgan of Lorain, Ohio; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents Duane Jackson in 2002 and Romayne Jackson (nee Lorenson) in 1984.

Funeral services will be held privately by the family.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Erie Shores Humane Society, 1911 Superior Street Sandusky, Ohio.
