Elaine Marie Maiden, 62, Child Support Investigator
Elaine Marie Maiden (nee Brindza) 62 years of age, and a resident of Vermilion, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2005 at New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following a brief illness.
She was born February 9, 1942 in Lorain, Ohio. She made her home in Norwalk and Amherst before moving to Vermilion. She was a graduate from Lorain High School with the class of 1960.
Elaine worked at Norwalk and Lorain County Human Services as an Child Support Investigator for ten years. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Lorain; St. Alphonsus Liguori Church in Norwalk and then finally to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst. She was a member of Norwalk American Legion Post 41 Ladies Auxiliary; Amherst Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #1442 Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, flowers, cooking and baking.
Survivors include her husband of forty-one years, Warren George Maiden; her son Warren S. Maiden of Amherst Ohio; her daughter Cheryl Robinson of Mission Viejo, California; and one granddaughter.
She was preceded by her father Stephen Brindza in 1989 and mother Anne Brindza (nee Mihalic) in 2002; her sister Deanne Barnicle in 1998.
Friends may call Monday from 3-7 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Closing prayers will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church 200 St. Joseph Drive, Amherst OH. Rev. Fr. Joseph Warner, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain, OH.
